Resume: Rony Barrak is an Internationally renowned Lebanese versatile percussionist (Darbouka specialist) Composer, Arranger, Pianist & Instructor. Since 1999 Rony has produced 4 fusion albums, Aramba - Karizma - Darbouka City - Cycle of Return a colorful blend between Eastern and Western music. Barrak has toured the world, performed & recorded with over than 20 world class Symphony Orchestras such as, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Tokyo Philharmonic. Performed with more then 40 international world top artists such as, Sarah Brightman “Harem world tour” Fairuz Al Di Meola, Arturo Sandoval, Dave Grusin…Performed in very prestigious concerts halls such as, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican concert Hall, Sydney Opera House, Philharmonie de Paris, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Kölner Philharmonie… Since 2005 till 2019 Rony has achieved a unique breakthrough success as first Darbouka soloist to be involved ever performing with Symphonic Game Music Concerts, one of the main leading symphonic video games projects in the world, performing music from Symphonic fantasies and Final Fantasies among others..In his large basket of discography, He has recorded as a featured guest artist more then 55 Albums, leaving behind his distinctive touch. Since 2005 till present, Rony has been a regular main guest performer in Morgenland Festival in Germany and a member of an International Fusion Band “Morgenland All Star Band” Rony has formed a Trio Project in USA “Trio ‘N Five” with Vlad Girshevich & Alex Nekrasov. As a versatile composer & pianist, he has been involved in various music projects for documentaries/Adverts/Songs/Poetry/3D mapping. Barrak has done various percussion master classes and workshops in Music colleges, Universities & Schools in Germany, Lebanon, Finland, Norway & USA. Rony makes regular appearances on television and radio shows in Lebanon and throughout the Middle East, consistently demonstrating a strong rapport with worldwide audiences as he has unleashed the Darbouka from the chains of its long-standing traditional context and explore its full potential.
